Sorry, a death in the close circle combined with equipment issues and, believe it or not, a fire in Southern California have conspired to delay a new A2Unplugged.
I’ll try again rsn, definitely before the end of the month.

Welcome to Show 0013! Nibble Magazine‘s original domain is hijacked; go to nibblemagazine.net instead. KansasFest 2007 is over. Some highlights–increased attendance; the new/old/long lost mix of attendees; Ryan’s weird bonding experience with Vespa riding Carrington of 1MHz included their podcast choices (Tiki Bar, MacBreak Weekly, and This Week in Tech) but not their haircuts–and folks, Carrington is not acting; HackFest; and all kinds of sessions. Some lowlights–Krispy KremeFest fails to deliver, Denny‘s is closed for the night, the dearth of new products, and one live episode of A2Unplugged going south. There is a new Sweet16 and a new SMS NDA for those wanting new products. Juiced.GS switches hands. A2Unplugged donated iWoz as a prize and also won some prizes, including the Chop Shop Apple II shirt donated by Sean Fahey of A2Central.com. KansasFest 2008 scheduled is for July 22-27, 2008 at Rockhurst University in Kansas City–join us for 20 years of KansasFest.

Sorry, there were some technical difficulties with the recording of the show that resulted in material even too low quality for me. I hope to update the show notes for the two shows that need them tonight, however.

Well, thanks to the wonderful ATA service, I am, for the second year in a row, stuck on the continent for several hours in an airport. We’ll see if they’re any better this time (while it would be hard to be worse, I’m not exactly confident they’ll be better).
If I’m not too irritated, I’ll work on getting out the latest A2Unplugged, but show notes are probably not going to happen until I’m at home.

Hear our panel discuss dinner at Sweet Tomatoes, bearded Ken Gagne (aka Fake Steve Jobs?), Dave Szetela, formerly of Nibble Magazine and his keynote address, Eric “Sheppy” Shepherd‘s ORCA session, learning soldering (maybe practicing on a Replica 1?), the Marinetti Open Source Project, the BBS: The Documentary, Spam: The Documentary, the iPhone (presented by Rob of Today in iPhone), the NadaNet, and an adventure at Radio Shack.
Day two of KansasFest 2007 included an iPhone demonstration, a session on getting started with ORCA, an update on the Marinetti Open Source Project, and a live recording of A2Unp

lugged with guest hosts Carrington Vanston of 1MHz! and Andy Molloy of Juiced.GS joining Ryan Suenaga live in front of the KansasFest Assembled.
KansasFest 2007 started off with meals (including the annual KFest Kookout, with the work mostly being done by King of the Kooks Kirk Mitchell), included a brilliant keynote address by Dave Szetela, formerly of Nibble Magazine and Apple Computer, Inc., a session on soldering by Ed Eastman, pizza from Syndicomm and the Sheppys, and lots of visiting, running around, laughing, and staying up late.
Tomorrow, A2Unplugged (or A2Unpugged, depending on your typing), will have a live podcast from KansasFest 2007.

As I write this, KansasFest 2007 is in full swing! I just met up a few minutes ago with fellow Apple II podcaster Carrington Vanston of 1MHz! for the first time. Currently I am in the van of my longtime roommate Kirk Mitchell of Moscow, Kansas, headed off to Radio Shack to buy some equipment for tomorrow’s live recording of

I’m better right now from my cold, except for coughing fits that are unexpectedly happening. I am not sure how long this will delay a coming A2Unplugged, but I will try to get something out as soon as I can. My apologies.

I was hoping to get the next episode of A2Unplugged out before the end of the month but that now seems horribly unlikely. I do, however, think it’ll be done before the weekend is over.

You can check out their chat room using Samurai, an Internet Relay Chat client from Ninjaforce. Some email comments from listeners–thanks all–as well as more voicemail from Rodney‘s friends. Finally, our chat with KansasFest committee chairperson Tony Diaz. Back after the new year…

Welcome to show 0006! We’re actually on time this episode; how’s that for a change? Your host passes the clinical social work exam. No email or voicemail this time. Some news around A2 News and Notes and A2Central.com. And of course, our featured interview with Mike Maginnis of The Computist Project. Back in fourteen!

Welcome to show 0005! Earthquake delay! That’s over and done, so the show can begin. Voicemail from Sing this time, who may be one of Rodney‘s buddies. Catakig and Virtual ][ are both updated, and KansasFest 2007 announces its keynote speaker. A question on C implementations for the Apple II leads to our main discussion. Aztec C, HyperC, cc65, MPW C, MPW ORCA/C, and finally ORCA/C by Byte Works (available from Syndicomm, either by itself or on Opus ][) all are discussed.
